Lost in last week’s newsletter was one simple goal: see the ball go through the net. Unlike Cade “Clank” Cunningham, I was able to do that (MSU +4 and ML thank you betting gods)
On the wheels of some positive momentum, I can feel a storm brewing. A beautiful storm - one of parlay hits and longshot wins and four days of betting glory. College hoops is less than one week away. It’s my time to shine.
To the plays….
Thursday night winnnnnnnnnnner parlay (+106)
Louisiana-Lafayette ML vs. Georgia State
Colts ML vs. Jets
76ers ML at Pistons
My take: I might go out this afternoon and buy a new hammer to physically hammer this. Lafayette is a top 25 team at home, the Jets aren’t doing this two weeks in a row, and to sweeten the odds a bit we add the Sixers to beat the abysmal Pistons. Build the weekend bankroll folks.
Actually won’t miss Saturday parlay (-119):
Ohio State ML @ Nebraska
Ole Miss ML vs. Liberty
Pittsburgh ML @ Duke
Cincinnati ML vs. Tulsa
Notre Dame ML vs. Navy
Michigan ML vs. Indiana
My take: not a can’t miss, a won’t miss. Let it fly.
Great value longshot CFB parlay (+14573):
Wake Forest ML @ North Carolina
Michigan State ML @ Purdue
Kentucky ML vs. Tennessee
Boise State ML @ Fresno State
Louisville ML vs. Clemson
Texas ML @ Iowa State
My take: I like all these plays individually. Wake Forest has charmed me, and UNC has already lost to multiple bad teams at home. Some destiny feelings there. MSU is just better than Purdue. Kentucky at home against a messy Tennessee squad is a nice pickem value. Boise has my heart and owes me a victory. Louisville vs. Clemson….more on that momentarily. And adding Texas +200 to get some great value.
My favorite play of the week: Louisville ML vs. Clemson (+160)
My take: Clemson is scraping by against bad teams. Louisville at home at night….Louisville is most susceptible to opposing quarterbacks (Clemson has zero good quarterbacks). Like the spot, like the number. Plus it’s very fun to fade Clemson this year.
Batshit Crazy Big Ten Home Dawg parlay (+9560):
Northwestern ML vs. Iowa
Maryland ML vs. Penn State
Rutgers ML vs. Wisconsin
My take: I’m going to sprinkle a very tiny amount on this but I just have a gut feeling this week is a weird weird weird one for the Big Ten.
NFL Longshot Parlay (+5189):
Bengals ML vs. Browns
Falcons ML at Saints
Panthers ML vs. Patriots
Cardinals ML @ 49ers
Chargers ML @ Eagles
Rams ML @ Titans
My take: I actually LOVE this one this week. Good Bengals team in a bounce back spot at home against an overdramatic reeling Browns squad. Falcons to win against a Saints team with a backup QB. Panthers to win at home in Christian McCaffery’s return(???) against a meh Pats team. Cardinals, the best team in football, to beat a bad Niners group. Chargers to win a bounce back spot against an overconfident Eagles group. And top it off with Rams ML in the late game (with a fantastic hedge opportunity if we get to that one on Titans +7.5).
I will be betting every single one of those lines individually (except Rams), and really do like this one’s chances.
In Sleepers news this week…
I quit my job (and like 5 other big announcements):
Austin Thornton on Michigan State for the Unscripted podcast:
Keep you calendars open from 5-7pm Eastern time Tuesday before the tip off of the Champions Classic
Now to Carter Andrew Elliott.
I want to first off let it be known that Gregory just dropped some absolute gems before me and I will be backing on those picks. I have a great bankroll thanks to Michigan Football doing what they do and losing to them boys in green (The Spartan Dawgs are Different!). So let's use that and win us some money. I have some soccer and some football plays that tickle my fancy this week.
First we must talk about my squad Manchester City -145 vs their rivals Manchester United. Lately Manchester United has been getting saved by Ronaldo (which has also saved their manager's job), but they are going against a Manchester City team that is in need of 3 points to keep pace with the Premier League Leaders Chelsea. In this game as well Manchester United will be without their starting CB Varane who has been playing well this year. That paired with an out of form Harry Maguire I like Manchester City to get back on track against their rivals and secure 3 points.
Now we move to college football (note I LOVE Wake Forest ML..but Greg discussed that above). We are going to ride the hot hand with Michigan State -2.5. Now I know this is a game that many bettors and Spartan fans will fear coming off the emotional roller coaster that was last week’s game but one thing I do know is that Melly Tuck won’t let a mental lapse happen. David Bell is a big play guy for Purdue but I am confident that if we gameplan for him we can neutralize him. I also expect us to Kenneth Walker them into the ground. Show no fear and back the Spartans -2.5.
And finally we go to NFL football where we have a great Sunday ahead (because the Lions are on a bye week). I have 2 solo picks which I love and then an all day parlay that could lead to a big pay day. My solo picks are Panthers ML (I will fade Mac Jones until the end of time) and y’all might call me crazy but Packers +8.5. Hear me out, yes I know there is no Aaron Rodgers but you still have Aaron Jones and also Davante Adams will be returning. The Chiefs defense cannot stop a soul and I expect Aaron Jones to have a big day and for the Packers defense to continue their solid play. They won’t win but they will cover. Enjoy the weekend of sports before we have COLLEGE BASKETBALL BABY!!!!
