Consistency and determination. The 2 words that apply to everyday life and also betting. The whispers of the newsletter being cursed are something I refuse to acknowledge. It is Friday and my bankroll is hefty and I am feeling it right now so with that I present to you my pickβs todayβs slate.
BUT FIRST! Enter our free Saturday Pickem Contest HERE! The winner gets $100 and a Sleepers hat (or beanie, your choice!). Last weekβs winner got 9 of 10 correct, 122 entries last week. If we beat that this week, I, Carter Elliott, will go skydiving (I donβt want to go skydiving).
Penn State -1.5 vs Northwestern. I weirdly have liked this Penn State team and what Coach Shrewsberry has done with them (in the coming years I think Penn State turns the corner). Penn State has been a team that has played well at home this year and is also one of the best defensive teams in the Big Ten and I think that they can take advantage of playing a Northwestern team that is a mess. This Northwestern team should be alot better than they are but I think they have deeper issues as a team and Coach Collins' seat has never been hotter. I think this is a game where they can put the final touches on the firing of Coach Collins and Penn State continues their good form at home and pulls out the victory. Also a little extra incentive with it being Senior Night for Penn State, never want to lose your last home game. #TrendsThatSupport Penn State is 8-0 ATS in their last eight home games and is 5-0 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record.
St Louis +3 vs Richmond. Now I will admit this pick also involves some spite (Richmond irks me) but I also see this game being a close one that St. Louis can pull out. St. Louis won their first meeting at home and have continued the trend of having Richmonds number (they are 6-1 in their last 7 meetings vs Richmond). Though St. Louis is faltering a bit down the stretch after starting off strong, this is still a good basketball team and the analytics back that up. Look for Yuri Collins to play like a top PG in the country which he is and in a back and forth game I think it will remain close throughout and St. Louis might even win this outright. Take the Billikens with the points.Β
My last pick is a parlay of some good sized favorites that should be fairly simple and straightforward aka we are going to have to stress 1-2 of these legs out but ultimately I think we come out on top. This pays out +105
