(Greg in italics) Sorry for the dramatic title today, this is still a stupid betting newsletter, I just felt like clickbaiting you.

(Cart in non-italics) Let’s not beat around the bush here folks, THE SLATE IS LOADED. Starting at noon we have a beautiful day of hoops ahead of us and with that we have some bets to be placed. #CartelPicks is back and ready to seize the day and be a winner. Let’s get right into it.

First up we have Auburn -4 vs Florida. Florida is a team that is currently on the outside looking in for the NCAA tournament and they need some big wins down the stretch to have a shot and they are at home (which is why I think this line is where it is). Even with the return of their best player in Collin Castleton I think that this Florida team is just not all that good. On the other hand the Auburn Tigers are in the driver’s seat to wrap up the SEC regular season title and I think they will want to do that sooner rather than later. Walker Kessler will be able to neutralize Caselton and I don’t see any other guys Florida’s team being able to keep up with the talent Auburn has. Take the Tigers -4.

Next we have Xavier +7 vs UConn. Now this Xavier team has been one of ups and downs throughout the year. On paper this team should be one that is contending for a Big East title (they were earlier in the year) but their shooting woes have killed them in recent games. UConn on the other hand has had some solid wins and found themselves back into the AP Top 25. I think that +7 is just too good of a number to take. Nate Johnson is a gametime decision for Xavier but if we can get some consistent shooting from Kunkel and some solid play from Suggs I think that this game is close. I think this game is a dogfight and will end up being a 5 point win either Xavier or UConn’s way. If you are feeling really good I certainly think Xavier ML is worth a sprinkle.

And last we have a #CartelPicks first! An OVER/UNDER bet. This bet will be UNDER 127 in the Iowa State vs Oklahoma game. These teams are 2 of the slower paced teams in the country and neither of them shoot particularly well from 3. In games that i have watched this year of these 2 teams they play painfully slow, are good defensively, and also turn the ball over a lot. I think this leads to a very ugly game that could easily end in the 50’s. DISCLAIMER this OVER/UNDER bet is a tester if it does not hit this may be the last you see of it moving forward.
