Weekend Betting Preview
We hate the slate but last time we loved the slate, the slate lied to us
Ladies and gentlemen, happy Friday. Ahead of us yet again is a glorious weekend of games. And yet we would be lying if we said we felt confident. The newsletter picks have been ehhhhh at best. A regroup is in order. When we have loved the slate, we did poorly. So maybe itās a good omen that we donāt love the slate this weekend? We shall see. Hereās what Iām playing heading into the weekend and a CARTER ELLIOTT APPEARANCE comes later.
Reminder/Disclaimer: I am not a professional handicapper or a good one. I bet for fun and occasionally win. Goal is fun bets with high upside. Now letās make money.
Gregās Picks:
Purdue +3.5 vs. Wisconsin
My take: Same take that had me supporting the troops last weekā¦Wisconsin stinks. Am I worried that Purdue is in a let down spot after an emotional win? Yes. Is it enough to talk me out of betting on the better football team at home against a Badger team with nothing to play for? Hell, they actually almost lost to Army. Boiler up.
The āThereās Just No Way This Losesā CFB Parlay: (-116)
Wake Forest ML @ Army
Cincinnati ML @ Navy
Penn State ML vs. Illinois
Michigan ML vs. Northwestern
My take: Three guarantees + Wake Forest to get this close to pickem. Wake is 6-0, has an offense that puts up NUMBERS and I just donāt see Army having enough firepower to keep up. Plus, this gives us a little #revenge at Army for costing me $84k.
NFL Longshot Parlay: (+5550):
Panthers ML @ Giants
Falcons ML @ Dolphins
Titans ML vs. Chiefs
Colts ML @ 49ers
Seahawks ML vs. Saints
My take: Panthers good, Giants bad. Dolphins QB controversies, weird Falcons game once a month where Matt Ryan looks great loading. Chiefs secretly stink (!!!) and Titans at home looking for back to back massive upset winsā¦I like the mojo. Colts desperate and sneaky good, 49ers most mehhhh team in football. Lastly, the Geno Smith Seahawks found some things in the 2H last week! Saints can easily lose any game depending on what planet Jameis is on. Good value here for a home dog at night.
The āWeirder Shit Has Happenedā Weekend Parlay (+25910) aka $10 to win $2.6k!
LSU ML @ Ole Miss
Indiana ML vs. Ohio State
Lions ML @ Rams
My take: Okay do I actually think this will happen? Of course not. Do I think it could? Yes. Is there any more fun way to spend $10? Youāre lying if you say there is. Thereās a weird part of me honestly thinks the Lions might win the Matt Stafford Revenge gameā¦.they have to win sooner or later and this is their Super Bowl. LSU is a mess right now but what if that team just bands together to prove everyone wrongā¦they did against Florida last week who is better than an Ole Miss team that might not have their quarterbackā¦ā¦the longest shot here is Indiana to beat OSU. BUT - this is a night game, in Bloomington, and Ohio State ALWAYS plays one Big Ten cupcake down to a one possession, final seconds type finish. Weird feeling this might be the one.
SUNDAY TOUCHDOWN SCORER PARLAY: (+8207)
Michael Carter, Terry McLaurin, Cordarrelle Patterson, Travis Kelce, JaāMarr Chase all to find the end zone. All in the early slate on Sunday. Fun way to watch Redzone.
Good luck this weekend. Might send some more bonus Sunday plays depending on how Saturday goes. Now itās time for CAT PICKSā¦.

Catās Picks II
Humbled. That is the word for these picks. After starting off 2-0 on my picks, I was served a nice serving of humble pie (only because Dawson Knox broke his hand...no excuses here though, just bets). Per usual I will be doing a couple different sports for my picks. I have a soccer parlay that I love and should be easy money, and then of course some football picks/parlays.
First up we head over to the Premier League for a 2 team parlay. The first leg is Chelsea ML vs. Norwich City. Now I would watch this line because Chelsea does have some injuries so you might be able to get better odds closer to kickoff, but even with replacements this Chelsea team is very clear of a struggling and not very talented Norwich team. With this game we will be parlaying that with Manchester City ML vs Brighton Hove Albion. Anybody that has watched these games in the past knows these games can be scrappy and Brighton always tries to shithouse their ways to wins. They try to hold the ball because they canāt score and it has led to them settling for 0-0 draws against some bad teams. After losing 3-2 to Brighton last year this is somewhat of a revenge game for the Cityzens and Pep and the players know that. Manchester City should win this game comfortably. These 2 parlayed will have you lay a little for -154 but I see this as a stress free 2 team parlay. Also if available I would bet Man City to win the game in a shutout fashion.Ā
(EDITORāS NOTE): Dammit Carter pick a better google image that one is grainy as hell my friend, - Greg
Now from Futbol to Football. I am not going to lie to yall...I did not see the slate as clearly as I wanted but instead of running from it I am going to crack a brew and look harder (value us always there you just have to find it). For the first game we are going to the Big 12 with Oklahoma State +7 vs Iowa State. You can easily make an argument that even though Oklahoma State is the undefeated team, that Iowa State is a better team. To me they are not a full touchdown better. I think this will be a close game that could easily end on a game winning field goal. Getting a touchdown spread I will take Oklahoma State +7. The next game I will be taking is LSU vs Ole Miss U77. This is a game that I think has a lot of factors that could lead to an UNDER type of score. You donāt know how LSU will look like playing for a Coach that is confirmed to be gone at the end of this year (with controversy sprinkled in) and an Ole Miss team that may be with a hurt Matt Corral or no Matt Corral at all. Give me the under in this game.
